The Path to Discovering Lifestyle Freedom
When you do what you fear most, then you can do anything. ― Stephen Richards
There are situations that can change our lives when we least expect it. The time to move on comes in the form of a person that gets the best out of us. That moment disguised as “unfavorable” when it’s exactly the opposite.
We are all dreamers and we will always come to that point in our lives when we need a make-over and reassess our priorities in life. It could happen once, twice or many times, but the day will come sooner or later.
When the moment arrives, we become idealistic. Then we set new goals and try to structure a realistic scheme in our minds about what we would like to do, how we could do it, when we should do it. Our feelings go up and down, weighing the pros and cons, making us feel unbeatable and often, a little helpless. We are facing fear so it’s a completely normal roller-coaster sensation.
But we have friends and family. We have the support that can help us get through the “worst-case-scenarios” while figuring out where to start. And most importantly, we have ourselves.
Time to shake our minds!
The more we think the less we make. Live goes way too fast to wait for us to decide. With this I don’t mean that we need to rush into things without thinking, I’m just saying that a “person’s got to do what a person’s got to do” when the time comes. Especially when it’s not our decision to make. When we have been “pushed into the pool” there’s nothing left to do but get on with our lives.
Keep calm and…
Start a new lifestyle. Entrepreneurship is becoming more and more popular every day. Why? Well, it’s simple. Markets are very competitive nowadays and probably they will be worse, so going-to-the-office routine has become a daily fight for position and power just to keep the job. We don’t do what we love, but we get paid to struggle.
This doesn’t necessarily happens in every company, but it happens in a lot of them. So when we get tired and stressed we become restless and look for alternatives. Why not? Lately, we have learned that people make a life doing out-of-the-box things. We could do that too, right?
That’s the spirit! Time to start looking for options and opportunities. What’s the difference today? Accessible Communication Technology. We can start working on a strategy, an idea, a personal image, a way to connect, a way to improve, right away! In real time. Stop worrying and start surfing the Internet. Step into the spotlight! Start by joining the so-popular social networks.
Make it happen.
We don’t have to wait until we get the opportunity, we have to go and look for it instead and things will happen along the way.
Just do, make mistakes, embrace failure, learn our lessons and keep going. That’s the only way to start anything good and significant for our futures. It can become a trial and error situation for a while, but we need to try. How else could we know if something will work? This is pure Science!
Because we’re worth it.
The most important person we need to impress in this situation is ourselves. We are our own competitors so we need to challenge “we” every day. Stop thinking about what we cannot do and start thinking about what we can do. What are our skills? What are we good at? And most importantly, what do we see ourselves doing? We can either start by using our recent experience to launch something or learn a whole new skill. Whatever the decision is, we should always remind ourselves that the only way to do something is doing it.
There is proof that it works.
Of course, this may sound like it’s easier said than done but I have met so many people in my life who years ago decided to go solo and now they’re making a life, not just making a living, with a business of their own. It’s not easy, that’s what they usually tell me, but the reward is doing what they like and being their own bosses.
I don’t know what will happen in the future, if only I had that power, but I look for inspiration to understand and finally believe that what we dream we can achieve if we only start working for it.
Our dreams are nothing more than our ideas playing with what-if’s in different scenarios. Let’s take them out of our heads and bring them into our lives.
